Modular homes?? - Zillow Real Estate Advice

Modular homes are different than manufactured homes. Modular are made in box shapes in a factory under a roof just like a stick built home and then transported to the site and put together with a crane to form a one or two story home that is difficult to tell from a stick built home. They are well made and solid construction. They can be set up over a basement, crawl space or on a slab. manufactured homes are the single and double wide trailer types that are built on steel I beams and wheels are added to transport them. They are often considered personal property, like a car, and there are ordinances prohibiting them in some places. To get loans they sometimes need to be on permanent foundations. My guess is you are asking about manufactured homes and not modular homes. Modular homes go up in value when often the manufactured homes will not (the land might).
