Build an Affordable, Custom Pantry Shelving System with Pipes

Build an Affordable, Custom Pantry Shelving System with PipesPlumbing pipes and wood boards make for great customized shelves, whether you're building a massive storage unit and built-in desk or simple bookshelves. This project shows off the potential for inexpensive pipes and wood as pantry shelves. The customization means you can neatly organize all sizes of containers and maximize your wall space.

DIYers CK and Nate saved money on the cost of their shelves by using long continuous pipes and sliding them through drilled holes in the wood boards. The boards are supported in the back with strips of MDF and strong pipe clamps.

For the whole floor-to-ceiling shelving system, the project cost less than $180.

ECB's Draghi says watching economic data closely

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - European Central Bank President Mario Draghi said on Thursday that the bank would keep a close eye on economic data over the coming weeks to judge what impact it would have on inflation.

"In the coming weeks, we will monitor very closely all the incoming information on economic and monetary developments, and assess the impact on the outlook for price stability," Draghi told a news conference.

He was speaking after the ECB left its main rate at a record low of 0.75 percent.

"Inflation rates have declined further as anticipated and price developments over the medium term should remain contained. Monetary and loan dynamics remain subdued," Draghi said, adding that monetary policy would remain accommodative as long as needed.

The euro zone's economic decline dragged on unabated in March, marked by a huge drop in French business activity that outstripped even the downturns in Spain and Italy, Markit's Eurozone Services PMI showed earlier on Thursday.

Stones returning to stage: Why should we care?

NEW YORK (AP) ? Ladies and gentlemen, the Rolling Stones.

With Wednesday's expected announcement of a new Stones tour, those words will again signal the start of a rock 'n' roll show. Young music fans may wonder why there's still a fuss over dad's, or grandpa's, favorite band. Here are five reasons to care.

1. LIVING HISTORY: Elvis Presley is dead. The Beatles will never perform again. The Who is down to two originals. Membership of rock's Greatest Generation is fading. The Stones, Bob Dylan and Paul McCartney are links to a special time in music history, and you can still see them in concert. If the Stones' form of classic rock moves you, it's hard to conceive of a band today building such an impressive catalog in the same style. Fashion, and the business, has moved on.

2. LIVE BAND: They'll never admit it, but deep down the Stones surely know they haven't made memorable new music in decades. They have, however, kept their chops and deliver the songs you want to hear with power and precision. You can't find a better Stones tribute band. The Stones are fully aware of their best work; you won't hear a flabby show. The past few times out, it has been more than greatest hits performed on autopilot.

3. KEITH RICHARDS: There was a time, kids, when Keith was a menace to society, a walking advertisement of the evils of drugs. Now he's a beloved figure, humanized by one of rock's best biographies and the model for Johnny Depp's Capt. Jack Sparrow character in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series. He's your cool, crazy uncle. He plays a pretty decent guitar, too.

4. CHARLIE'S FACE: There's no better facial expression in rock 'n' roll than the bemused one worn by drummer Charlie Watts as he takes in the madness around him. Watch Watts when Mick Jagger does a particularly audacious chicken strut.

5. THE LAST TIME: We'll be surprised if this is labeled as some sort of retirement tour; they've been subjected to so many age jokes over the years that the topic itself is old. And these men are in surprisingly good shape for the years of hard living. But Richards is 69, the same age as Mick. Watts will be 72 in June. Reality is catching up. Probably even before they expect it, they'll be singing "The Last Time" for the last time.

Republican Sen. Rand Paul to speak in NH

(AP) ? Republican Sen. Rand Paul is set to appear in New Hampshire next month, becoming the first potential 2016 presidential candidate to deliver a formal speech in the state likely to host the nation's first presidential primary.

The New Hampshire Republican Party confirmed Wednesday that the first-term senator from Kentucky will deliver the keynote address at its first Liberty Dinner on May 20. The location has yet to be determined.

"Sen. Rand Paul has been a leader in the fight for smaller government, lower taxes and fiscal responsibility in Washington," said state GOP Chairman Jennifer Horn. "I am honored that Sen. Paul has agreed to address our party and I look forward to welcoming him to the Granite State."

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus is also scheduled to attend the New Hampshire event.

Paul, the son of former Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, himself a veteran of presidential campaigns, has said he's "seriously considering" running for the White House. A favorite of the tea party movement, the senator delivered a tea party response to President Barack Obama's State of the Union Address earlier in the year and scored a narrow victory in a symbolic presidential preference poll of conservative activists last month.

New Hampshire law requires the state to host the nation's first presidential primary election, while Iowa hosts the first caucus. But the voting calendar also depends upon party rules and state legislatures. The final schedule won't be set for years.

Other Republicans thought to be weighing presidential bids have already visited Iowa, including Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.

Iowa also figures into several upcoming appearances by potential 2016 candidates. A 2012 presidential candidate, former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania, is scheduled to address Iowa faith-based groups on April 15. Paul is set to deliver an Iowa GOP Lincoln Day dinner speech on May 10, and Walker is scheduled to speak in Des Moines on May 23.

Daily Goals For Weight Loss Health Fitness

Last night, a crew of Best Body Bootcamp members came together on Twitter to chat about goals. Why? Well, because I don?t want BBB to be another weight loss challenge or simply a workout plan to follow. It can be used to motivate people in that way, but that?s not my intention with the plan.

My intention is to provide fun workouts, an inspiring support group, and the flexibility to realize YOU CAN MAKE POSITIVE CHANGES. I don?t expect perfection. I simply expect giving your best to reach a healthier, balanced, whole self. For that reason BBB not only emphasizes a flexible plan you can make work for your personal needs to get and stay active, but also choosing additional weekly goals to bring about other healthier habits.

Why? Because I believe the first step to reaching any goal is to determine the main goal and then what I like to call the action steps to get there.

Once you know your overall goal, it?s important to sit down and list out everything you can possibly do to reach that goal. The specific steps you can take to move in a positive direction. Preferably, things you can do daily to make an impact.

Many participants of Best Body Bootcamp have a desire to live healthier lifestyles. Some may have goals to get to a healthier weight and some may simply want to follow through on a plan and see what progress it leads them. Some may have struggles with giving up a negative habit that is detrimental to their happiness and some may simply need a reminder to take small steps to better care for their health. We all have room for improvement and goals we may need to set for our health. I wanted to take this time to share with you some of the wonderful action steps seen in this round of Best Body Bootcamp. The participants are inspiring and I hope they inspire you to consider the action steps you can take as well.

25 Things To Do Today For Healthier Lifestyle

  1. Workout in the morning, before I have the chance to let the day?s schedule deter me.
  2. Eat a healthy breakfast including whole grains, fruit, and some protein.
  3. Walk for 30 minutes at least 5 times per week.
  4. Eat fruit or vegetables with every meal.
  5. 64-100 ounces of water every day
  6. Going to bed by 10 pm to get 8 hours of sleep per night.
  7. Track/log food daily to learn proper portion sizes and a healthy calorie intake for my body.
  8. Limit the amount of processed foods in my diet to only X item/s per day.?
  9. Eat some protein with every meal/snack.
  10. Floss daily.
  11. Stretching after each workout.
  12. Take my vitamins daily.
  13. Take a 10-15 minute break during the day for relaxation/prayer/meditation/calming thoughts.
  14. Write at least one positive thought about myself in a journal every morning and every evening.
  15. Write at least three things I?m thankful for every day.
  16. Do something active with my kids daily ? walks, playing outside, tickle matches on the floor.
  17. Turn off and unplug from technology (computers, phones, etc) after 5 pm to spend time with family/friends.
  18. Send a positive note or give a compliment to at least one person a day.
  19. Check in daily with my accountability partner.
  20. Prep my food, workout gear, etc the night before so I have no excuses the next day.
  21. Meal plan and pack my lunches for work.
  22. Don?t eat in front of computer or TV to avoid mindless snacking.
  23. Leave 10 minutes early to avoid stress.
  24. Have a cup of herbal tea instead of wine at night, at least 5 nights out of the week.
  25. Log at least 8,000 steps per day.

These are not necessarily goals I?m saying you have to work towards to be healthy. I solely wanted to share some ideas to hopefully spark something in you to make steps towards a healthier lifestyle. Think about your goals and a small step you can take. It?s often easier to approach smaller tasks and will help it become a lifestyle change. Begin by taking one small action today.

Do you believe in finding success in smaller actions? What?s a daily goal you can make?

Samsung Galaxy S 4 isn't even out yet, but it's been rooted

We might have spent a few hours toying with Samsung's new mobile hardware, but tinkerers over at XDA-Developers have had enough time to root the Galaxy S 4, already. This means those (very) early adopters can start perusing the inner workings as soon as it arrives on store shelves. There's a video of the process after the break and you can pick up all the necessary files (and warnings of not to meddle with what you do not understand) at the source. There is one tiny caveat to the news, however, as the rooting magic is focused squarely on the Exynos 5 Octa model for now. According to SAM Mobile, several batches of the new Galaxy phone are rumored to be packing Qualcomm's Snapdragon 600 instead of Samsung's homemade chip series. An official spokesperson from the UK branch has confirmed that it'll arrive in the there with the Snapdragon processor.
